This week’s Shamrock Scoop is packed with pride, as our teams delivered some outstanding performances across the board. From the seniors to the U15s, it’s been a week of hard-earned victories, and we couldn’t be prouder. Let’s dive into the highlights and keep the winning momentum going!

A Quick Look Back…

Seniors Power Home Against KKG

CAPITAL CONCRETE SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GROUP B
21 Sep – Greenford
North London Shamrocks 5-15 – 0-7 Kingdom – Kerry Gaels

The seniors finished their group stage in style with a dominant performance against KKG. Although we started a bit slow with some uncharacteristic turnovers, the first two scores of the game were Shamrocks goals, setting the tone for a very one-sided affair. It was clear that KKG, knowing they couldn’t progress to the semi-finals, were off the pace.

By halftime, the game was effectively over, allowing the Shamrocks to rest some key players and give game time to those needing it. While not much was learned from the game itself, it was job done, with the team finishing top of the group.

Up next, the boys face last year’s champions, Fulham Irish, in the semi-finals. The lads will need to be at their very best to overcome this hurdle, but confidence is high. The next two weeks will be crucial as we hope to welcome back a few players from injury and suspension.

Reserves Lay a Solid Foundation Against Thomas MacCurtains

JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GROUP A
22 Sep – Greenford P1
North London Shamrocks 2-15 – 1-1 Thomas McCurtains

The reserves opened their championship campaign with a well-deserved victory over Thomas MacCurtains. Welcoming back a couple of seasoned players to steady the ship, the team delivered a strong performance, adding some much-needed steel to the spine of the team.

Midway through the first half, a couple of goals from great passages of play by our forwards put daylight between the teams. Standout performances from Tom Raban, Ciaran Deely, Jack Donovan, and Patrick Gannon ensured a solid foundation for the rest of the campaign.

U15s Win All Britain Shield in Birmingham

A massive effort from our U15 boys on Saturday as they took home the All Britain Shield in Birmingham! In a competition where the winners of the Plate secured a win and a draw against the Cup finalists, it showed how evenly matched the teams were.

It was especially pleasing to see our lads put in the extra effort in the Shield Final against the ABC Champions, with intense 15-minute games back-to-back testing their endurance. A special thanks to the parents for their support and to the NLS Committee for funding the coach.

We also received a call from Pat Winston, Chair of the London County Youth Committee, thanking the team for representing the County at the U15 Provincial Blitz. A great collective effort all around! ☘️
