With a historic championship win under their belts, North London Shamrocks now prepare for a fierce showdown against Mayo’s Ballina Stephenites in the Connacht Club SFC Quarter Final this Saturday. A few of our Shamrocks girls starred in the London U18s at St Kiernan’s 7-a-side tournament, and we’re looking forward to Race Night and our upcoming AGM. North London Shamrocks vs Ballina Stephenites
Get to know the team North London Shamrocks will be facing head-on this Saturday: Ballina Stephenites from County Mayo. These reigning Mayo Senior Football Champions have a proud legacy and enter this clash with the experience of top-level competition and a winning mindset. They’ve not only dominated at the county level, capturing last year’s title, but also took home the All-Ireland Club Championship in 2005.
The Stephenites bring a lineup of skilled players, including Evan Regan, a forward with a lethal scoring touch, Mikey Murray in midfield, known for his hard work and physicality, and David Clarke, the former Mayo goalkeeper whose leadership and shot-stopping skills set a high standard.
With several of their players seasoned in Mayo county football, the Shamrocks know they’re up against a formidable team—but they won’t shy away from the challenge. Expect a battle as Shamrocks stand ready to meet this Mayo powerhouse with everything they’ve got!

London U18s Shine at St Kiernan’s 7-a-Side Tournament
It was fantastic to see a London U18 team compete at last weekend’s St Kiernan’s 7-a-side senior tournament in Barnet. North London Shamrocks were well represented by Meryem Nugent, now in her first year at university, along with Eleanor and Alana Cunnane.
The girls faced some tough matches against senior teams, showcasing resilience and skill in every encounter. Their semi-final saw a convincing win over St Joseph’s Waltham Cross, taking them into the Shield Final, where they narrowly lost to Claddagh Gaels of Luton with a score of 1-6 to 1-3. A great effort from all involved, showing the talent and determination coming up through our club.
